(Nov. 2) The Inver Grove Heights Hockey Association (IGHHA) is hosting a "Try Hockey Free" event on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 12-2:15 p.m.

The event is being held at the Veteran's Memorial Community Center and is targeted at kids aged 5-9 years old.

"Hockey develops skills on the ice that build a foundation for a lifetime," IGHHA Communications Coordinator Gene Brown told Patch. "Hockey promotes confidence, pride, focus and responsibility with an emphasis on fun. Hockey is a game to be played and enjoyed for life."

For kids who think they might be interested but have never played, don't worry. "Simply show up, equipment will be provided!" Brown said.
