Why would the I.G.H. Fire Dept. respond to a house fire in W.St.Paul ?? What happened to the W.S.P. fire dept. did they go on vacation ?? Annapolis Street is a long way from IGH if WSP needed "backup" for a big blaze why wouldn't have the ST.PAUL Fire dept helped out being the St. Paul City limits is just blocks away right?? I'm sure someone reading this can get to the bottom of this mystery that needs to be answered next the Eagan Fire Dept. will be assisting the Bloomington Fire Dept with fires !!!! LOL

They merged the two fire departments into one.

I think this is just a typo. The South Metro Fire Department which covers both West St. Paul and South St. Paul was established a few years ago. There is mutual aid where other departments will assist others when they have a large incident which could have been the case here.

I hear on the scanner quite often IGH/WSP departments helping each other, it really isn't that uncommon ... It's pretty rare to hear St. Paul cross over to help, more the police than the fire dept. - don't know why.
