IGH Man Charged With Sex Crime Against 10-Year-Old Girl

Roger Pojar, 44, has been charged with a fourth-degree felony criminal sexual conduct after a 10-year-old girl accused him of touching and kissing her when she slept overnight at his home.

A 44-year-old Inver Grove Heights man has been charged with a felony after being accused of kissing and touching a 10-year-old girl.

Roger Alan Pojar is charged in Dakota County with felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The maximum penalty for the charge, if he is convicted, would be five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the court complaint, police got a complaint in October from a woman who said her 10-year-old daughter was “touched inappropriately by a neighbor over the past summer.”

Police were told by the mother that her daughter would sleep overnight at the friend’s home and then tell her Pojar “had approached her after the other girls were sleeping and had kissed her on the lips.”

Additionally, the complaint alleges the girl said that “during the night, she indicated that the defendant came to the bed and started rubbing her. The girl repeatedly asked the man to stop, at which point he'd leave, but later return and continue touching her, according to court records.

When officers spoke with Pojar, he said he remembered a night when the victim spent the night at his house with his daughter, and that they all slept on the pull-out, but that he didn’t remember details about the specific night. He speculated that he might have been drinking, the complaint alleges, “but he denied kissing, hugging, rubbing or touching the victim in any way.”

No court date as been assigned. A date will be set after Pojar has hired an attorney.

So the kid is automatically a liar? Even if the kid was lying, don't you think an investigation shoud be done? And if the kid didnt like the man, why would she want to stay at his house in the first place? What kind of connection do you have to Pojar that makes you make that kind of claim?

Maybe the Mothers mental status should also be investigated. Under those circumstances it doesn't seem like a good choice for her to let her daughter spend the night with a neighbor, even though the neighbors daughter was there. Mr. Pojar made an unwise decision in allowing her to spend the night also.

So, an update. This case was dismissed in the "interest of Justice"! Thank God! Unfortunately after more than a year of suffering and being labeled a pervert this case was dismissed days before trial. They offered "deals" Roger didnt take them because he was innocent and was going to fight these allegations. Also, Mr. Pojar passed 3 lie detector test that he paid for himself, conducted by the same man who does them for the states sex crime unit. The truth is any parent that allows their child to have a friend spend the night could be in his same situation. How sad. And if there is any question as to my connection to roger, I am his sister and can attest to how this situation has affected his ENTIRE family. And if this paper would have been as quick to publish the dismissal as they were to publish the charges I would have alot more respect for it. Everyone knows no one could be charged of a more seriouse offense, and the only thing worse than the crime itself is being accused of it when you didnt do it.

Well said Stacie. People jump to report the potential news of this crime but don't report that "hey we were wrong, the guy is innocent!"
