The Inver Grove Heights Cougars entered the playoffs Thursday night seeded third out of nine playoff teams. They played the second-seeded WSP Hawks on Oct. 4, complete with wind and chilly temperatures.

The Hawks' sweeps and outside running plays proved challenging and the Cougars' numb hands led to a few costly fumbles too.

Saturday, though, the Cougars were true to form in a stunning 26-0 win over the IGH Colts. When they focus on the fundamentals of solid blocking and low tackles, the Cougars prove to be a tough opponent.

Saturday's result concluded the season with the Cougars placing third out of nine teams overall, but first amongst the four IGH teams.
