Editor's Note: Voting totals provided Tuesday night by the Secretary of State are unofficial. Check back Wednesday for the official numbers. 

Tuesday's primary wasn't extremely local for Inver Grove Heights residents as House District 52B was already set for November—pitting incumbent Rep. Joe Atkins against Republican challenger Paul Tuschy.

In the Minnesota Senate, District 52 also required no primary as incumbent Sen. Jim Metzen and Republican Dwight Rabuse continue preparing for the general election.  

Across the border in South St. Paul, however, Republican Joe Blum was chosen over challenger David Meisinger to face DFL Rep. Rick Hansen for the House District 52A seat.

In the U.S. Senate primary, Kurt Bills secured the GOP candidacy while Stephen Williams secured the Independent spot to face off against Amy Klobuchar in November.

In the race for U.S. Representative District 2, John Kline is set to face DFL challenger Mike Obermueller.

With the Judicial races both being nonpartisan, the top two candidates will move forward to the general election in November. With the majority of state precincts reporting, as of 12:30 a.m. Aug. 15, the results are: 

Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice

In the Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice race, incumbent Lorie Skjerven Gildea along with Dan Griffith will move forward to the general election. Skjerven Gildea received nearly 50 percent of the votes, Griffith received about 29 percent of the votes. Jill Clark came in third with approximately 20 percent of the votes.

Minnesota Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice, Seat 4

In the Minnesota Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Seat 4 race, incumbent David R. Stras as well as Tim Tingelstad will move forward to the general election. David Stras received about 49 percent of the votes, Tingelstad received approximately 29 percent of the votes. Alan Nelson came in third with about 21 percent of the vote.
