Applications Being Accepted for Community Gardens Plots

The Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation Department Operates 18 Garden Plots at Salem Hills Park.

Registrations are being accepted for plots in the Inver Grove Heights Community Gardens in , 1642 Upper 55th St. E.

Residents interested in taking part in the community garden must return a completed application and $25 rental fee to the Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation Department by May 9.

The parks department currently operates 18 garden plots. One plot per household is allowed.

Planting begins May 19 and should be done by June 3. The harvest deadline is Oct. 19.

Priority for plots is given to Inver Grove Heights residents. Previous-year plot-holders have first priority for spots.

The garden will be plowed, tilled, dragged, measured and staked out by city crews before planting begins.

There is access to water at the site and plot renters will be responsible for planting, watering and maintaining their own plot.
