B-52 Teams With March of Dimes in Benefit for Premature Babies

With support from Farmers Insurance and St. Croix Valley Riders, bikers will raise money to help March of Dimes fund research, advocacy and education for healthy babies.

B-52 Burgers ‘n’ Brew is cooking up a great day for motorcycle riders—all to benefit premature babies.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, bikers can enjoy a beautiful ride along the St. Croix River from B-52 Burgers ‘n’ Brew in Inver Grove Heights down to Winona and back, all while helping the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies.

Country music artist Tim Sigler will be performing at 9 p.m. and 15% of all sales at B-52 Burgers ‘n’ Brew will be donated to the March of Dimes.

Premature birth affects more than half a million babies nationwide each year, with one in 10 babies affected in Minnesota.

Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have lifelong disabilities. The March of Dimes is committed to reversing this trend by funding research to find the causes of premature birth and developing strategies to prevent it.

“I can’t think of a better group to support than one that helps babies, that’s why we’re donating to the March of Dimes,” said organizer JJ McKay of Party Zone Productions. “I was inspired by my step-father’s membership and support of the Minnesota 4X4 brothers' hill climb for babies. I’m passionate about helping others and I am expecting a great turnout for the River Run.”

Farmers Insurance is sponsoring the 2nd Annual River Run as part of their Be A Hero for Babies activities with the March of Dimes.

“For 25 years, Farmers agents and employees have shown an incredible commitment to helping babies,” said Stan Polk, Director of AgencyPoint at Farmers Insurance.  “Our support of the River Run is a way for our agents to work in their community for stronger, healthier babies in Minnesota.”

Joining the River Run will cost $10 for each rider and $10 for each passenger.  Registration starts at 11 am and first 100 bikes to register will receive gift bags.

The ride also features a silent auction and raffle.

Supporters and sponsors of the River Run include Sysco, Denny’s 5th Avenue Bakery, Caribou, Beach Bar Lake St. Croix Beach, No Name Saloon in Prescott, Harbor Bar & Restaurant and many other local businesses.
