Get Out: Weekend Events in and Around Inver Grove Heights

It's Wednesday, and you're wondering what to do for the weekend. Patch has some recommendations!

Check our picks for a fun weekend and watch a newly released movie, eat tacos and enjoy some music.

 


  • When/Where:
    7:30pm on Friday and Saturday at McKnight Theater at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts
    Why Go:
    Noted jazz performer George Maurer teams up with the St. Paul City Ballet to present a mixed repertory program.
    Pricing:
    $25 for adults, $20 for students and seniors.

  • When/Where: 
    9pm on Saturday at Jersey's Bar & Grill, Inver Grove Heights
    Why Go:
    Grab dinner for two, plus a bottle of wine or four drinks for only $30, then listen to this four-member band, which focuses solely on rock music.
    Pricing: 
    Free

  • When/Where:
    2pm to 5pm on Saturday at the Vastka-Goers WWII VFW in Mendota Heights.
    Why Go:
    If cheap tacos weren't reason enough, money generated from this weekly fundraiser and meet raffle goes to support the VFW post.
    Pricing:
    $2/taco
  • ART EXHIBIT FEATURING THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER
    When/Where: 10am-5pm on Saturday or noon to 5pm on Sunday at the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis.
    Why Go:
    An exhibit featuring the artwork of Peter L. Johnson. Johnson's photographs, found object sculptural river "specimens" and video invite viewers to look at the Mississippi River in new ways, discovering beauty amongst the damage that has been done to the environment.
    Pricing: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-17 and free for children under 5 years.
  • TAKE UP BOXING AT COMMUNITY CENTER
    When/Where:
    5:30-6:30pm on Sundays through May 8 at Veterans Memorial Community Center.
    Why Go: Lose weight and firm up that body as you work with an instructor to increase coordination, speed, agility and strength. Each class includes jump roping, resistance training and basic boxing moves.
    Pricing: $49 for community center members, $79 for non-members.
