Heading Outdoors Today?

The National Weather Service is forecasting above-normal temperatures and sunny skies today. Is Spring just around the corner?

So, are you going outside for a walk today?

The National Weather Service is predicting a glorious day for Inver Grove Heights. Today's forecast calls for sunny skies, a southerly breeze and a high temperature of 56 degrees.

At 10 a.m., the temperature already had reached 40 degrees at Fleming Field in South St. Paul. Considering the average high temperature for March 6 is 36 degrees, that mid-morning temperature didn’t feel too bad.

While the mid-50s will feel balmy, today's high isn’t expected to come near the record high for the day, the weather service says. The record high for this date is 72 degrees, occurring in 2000.

The forecast for the rest of this week is calling for above-normal temperatures and, for the most part, sunny skies. Wednesday is the exception, with rain and a rain-snow mix in the cards.
