High Winds, Lightning Knocks out Power in Inver Grove

Thousands around the Twin Cities are without power for the second time this summer after a wave of storms ripped through the area with hail and heavy rain.

Nearly 2,000 customers were without power Tuesday night after heavy rain and high winds carried by a late summer storm wreaked havoc in Inver Grove Heights.

Update: 250 Still Without Power Wednesday after Storm Socks IGH
The bulk of the outages were in northern Inver Grove and South Saint Paul, but hundreds in southern Inver were also battling without power.
The storms brought winds measured at more than 50 m.p.h., and more than one-inch hail dropped on nearby Eagan, disrupting literally hundreds of neighborhood outings in the Twin Cities Metro for events like Night to Unite and National Night Out.
A list of outages can be found via Xcel Energy's Outage Map, which refreshes every 10 minutes.
Storms were sweeping through for a second round later Tuesday night, around 9 p.m., so more customers could get knocked off line with the additional wave of severe weather.
