Highway 3 Project in Inver Grove Heights Has Another Closure this Weekend

MnDOT will allow construction crews to close down the roadway Friday night for a culvert replacement. The highway will re-open Monday morning.

Local motorists will encounter delays and a detour in Inver Grove Heights as Minnesota Highway 3 (Robert Trail) between 70th Street and Allen Way closes at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23.

A signed detour using County Road 26/70th Street, Babcock Trail and 80th Street will bypass the closure.

The roadway is scheduled to re-open by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

The closure is needed as crews replace a culvert beneath the roadway.

The project is part of a larger project to improve drainage, repair the roadway and update pedestrian crossings to meet modern accessibility standards.
