Editor's note: The following is an announcement from MnDOT.
Motorists traveling the northbound Hwy 52 Lafayette Bridge will encounter overnight detours as the bridge closes between Concord Street and East 7th Street from Nov. 12-15.
The closures will begin daily at 8 p.m. and reopen every morning by 5 a.m. from Nov. 13-16.
In addition, southbound Hwy 52 will close between eastbound and westbound West 7th Street from Nov. 12-15. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. every morning.
Access to southbound Hwy 52 will remain available from westbound I-94, southbound I-35E and eastbound I-94.
The closures are needed as crews remove permanent barrier and replace it with temporary barrier in order to build a bypass. Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour signs.
