UPDATED: Send Inver Grove Heights Patch Your Snow Photos

When the weather outside is frightful, send Patch your photos.

A powerful blizzard dropped a foot of snow on Inver Grove Heights on Sunday and Monday, which means that Patch is looking for photos of you shoveling your driveway, unburying your car or just having fun in the freshly-fallen powder.

The National Weather Service predicted the storm would deposit up to 18 inches of snow across the Twin Cities area through Monday morning. Although the snowstorm started later and wasn't as potent as forecasters predicted, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport canceled more than 700 flights as of Sunday evening. More than 300 car accidents, rollovers and spin-outs were reported statewide, according to Minnesota State Patrol reports.

Inver Grove Heights — and much of southeastern Minnesota — are in for a second round of snow this afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Monday morning. Inver Grove is expected to receive an additional two to four inches of snow starting this afternoon, forecasters said.
