Two Parks to Close 30 Minutes After Sunset

and River Front parks will now close 30 minutes after sunset starting March 1.

The change, Parks and Recreation Director Eric Carlson said in a release, “will give public safety officials the ability to monitor park activity and ask people to leave the park after dark.”

Members of the neighborhoods around the park presented concerns about activity happening in the park overnight prompted the park closure.

No programs or services offered to the public will be affected and the parks will open at 6 a.m. daily.
