Vacation Bible Schools in Full Swing, Sports Camps Ready for Fall Season

Starting today, Patch takes a look at the days and week ahead in Inver Grove Heights. The roundup today includes plenty of activities for the kids, as well as a chance to give back to the community.

Vacation bible schools are a hugely popular way for Minnesota families to keep their kids busy during the summer in an assuredly family-friendly way, based around a spiritual message.

Some range from soccer camps to weeks chock-full of activities.

A look at the week of July 22 kicks off with Vacation Bible School here in our own backyard, as well as a city council meeting, a major road project and a kid who wants to meet a new mentor.

Come join Berea Lutheran Church in IGH they  go through Answers in Genesis’s IncrediWorld Amazement Park, where kids take a thrill ride through God’s creation!  Fun for Ages  4-Grade 8. July 22-26 from 9-11:30 a.m.

• City Council Meets Monday

The Inver Grove Heights City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday night at city hall. If you can’t make it to the council chambers, you can stream the meeting each week online.  

• Night to Unite is Coming

The annual Night to Unite (formerly National Night Out) is coming Aug. 6. For complete details on IGH participation and how to get the police and/or fire department to your neighborhood, check here.

• Volunteering Opportunity – Meet Jake

Each week, we’re going to try to highlight a great opportunity to give back somewhere in Dakota County.

This week, meet Jake. Jake is waiting for a mentor through Kids n’ Kinship. To learn more about us, contact Kids n’ Kinship at www.kidsnkinship.org or 952-892-6368. You can also attend an information session.  The next one is Thursday, August 1st, 6:00-6:45 pm at Burnhaven Library in Burnsville.
