Get Out: Weekend Events in and Around Inver Grove Heights
The weekend is coming up, and Patch has some great ideas to help you plan for some fun.
When/Where: 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 at the Simley High School theater. Why Go: A.C.T.’s ninth annual production of Charles Dickens’ beloved classic is a holiday tradition for Inver Grove Heights and South St. Paul. Join Awesome Children's Theater as they accompany Scrooge on his journey of self-discovery with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and To Come.
Cost: $3 at the door
- Gar Lockrem Community Choir Holiday Concert
When/Where: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, at Augustana Lutheran Church in West St. Paul.
Why Go: The Gar Lockrem Community Choir will perform the first of three holiday concerts at Augustana Lutheran Church in West St. Paul. The concert is free, but donations are welcome. Additional performances are scheduled for: 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Easter Lutheran Church, 4200 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan; and 3 p.m. on Dec. 11at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 9401 Nesbitt Ave. S. in Bloomington.

- Noonlight Bowling/ Silent Auction/ Bake Sale Fundraiser
When/Where: 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 at in Inver Grove Heights.
Why Go: Raise money for the Inver Grove Heights Destination Imagination program. $15/person includes three games and shoe rental. Bowling begins at noon. Bring your entire family and participate in a silent auction. Items include Disney World Park Hopper Tickets, Water Park of America tickets, a Keurig coffee maker package and more. There will also be a bake sale. Proceeds go towards registration fees for local DI teams advancing to Globals.
Cost: $15 per person
When/Where: Noon on Sunday, Dec. 11, at in Inver Grove Heights.
Why Go: Santa will be on hand to meet and greet children and families as they come in and go swimming. Participants can also decorate cookies and swim with Santa's helpers!
Cost: Free
- Sleigh Rides at Gertens
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Gertens in Inver Grove Heights.
Why Go: Meet with Santa's reindeer and go for a sleigh ride or—if you'd prefer to stay out of the cold—visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus inside the Poinsettia House.
Cost: Sleigh rides are $3 per child or free with the purchase of a Christmas tree. $5 per child or $10 per family to visit with Santa.
