VIDEO: Film Explores Connections Between Dance and Nature

Rebecca Heist, the Dance Program Director at Macalester College in St. Paul, choreographed and directed the short film, which was shot in part in Inver Grove Heights.

What better place to shoot a film exploring the connections between dance and nature than at the 270-acre Ordway Natural History Study Area along the Mississippi River in Inver Grove Heights?

Known for its tall-grass prairie, oak savanna woodland and other natural features, the area served as a natural backdrop for Rebecca Heist's short dance film, "Terrain." Heist, a dance program director at Macalester College in St. Paul, choreographed and directed the film, which was also shot at Fort Snelling State Park, the Wild River State Park and the Mississippi River.

The Ordway Natural History Study Area is owned by Macalester College, and is used for biological and environmental research and education.
