Inver Grove Target is on Target for July Opening

Construction work continues at the store site, just north of the Highway 55-South Robert Trail interchange.

The opening of Target along South Robert Trail in Inver Grove Heights remains on target for July.

Recent media reports and a Target Corporation press release confirm the 135,000 square-foot store will open its doors this summer.

“Target is proud to expand its presence in the state where it originated,” said Bryan Everett, Target’s senior vice president of stores in the Midwest region, in a company press release. “We take pride in being a good neighbor in the Twin Cities community and developing long-lasting relationships with guests and the Inver Grove Heights community.”

Passersby of the Target site—just north of the Highway 55-South Robert Trail interchange—have seen the store slowly take shape in recent months. For instance, the walls and roof of the massive building appear to be nearly finished. And last week, construction workers were seen tending to the future entrance of the store.

Job fairs will be conducted this spring to fill the open employee spots, according to the Target press release. People interested in employment also can apply online or at another Target store soon.
