Pilot Training Center to be Remodeled

The Pilot Training Center, 11650 Courthouse Blvd., will be remodeled by Pilot Flying J into a building for career drivers and the motoring public.

The renovated building will feature full amenities including four fuel islands and five diesel islands along with DEF at the pump. The facility also will feature high-speed fuel pumps with faster flow so customers can refuel quickly as well as a restaurant and a wide variety of convenience items. It will remain open during remodeling, which is expected to be complete in May 2012.

“We hope that Inver Grove Heights area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our new Pilot Travel Center,” said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J.           

The Pilot Travel Center in Inver Grove Heights is part of the network of more than 550 travel centers and travel plazas in the Pilot Flying J family across the U.S. and Canada.

The Inver Grove Heights location will include a Subway restaurant; hot food deli; clean restrooms; pay phones; an AirVac; fax and copy services; Western Union and check cashing; an ATM; lottery and Lotto tickets; an
arcade; laundry services; and general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers.

“We believe our familiar Pilot sign will be a welcome sight for interstate travelers and professional drivers. They’ll want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items like pizza and Oscar Mayer hot dogs,” said Alec McDonald, general manager for the Inver Grove Heights location.

In addition to diesel fuel and DEF at the pump, professional drivers will have access to a CAT scale, three automated showers and 43 parking spaces for trucks. After remodeling, the travel center will offer five automated showers and driver services such as Transflo, Trip Pak and “The Truck Paper” magazine.
