All Clear As Snow Starts Melting

Last night's storm did what it promised, and dumped 3 inches of snow on the region. Still, nobody's impressed.

Inver Grove Heights woke up 2-3 inches of wet, heavy snow this morning. It’s a pain to shovel, even if it’s only a little bit, but nothing major for Minnesota standards.

According to Police Lt. Sean Folmar, Inver Grove Heights roads were “Pretty much clear” during this morning’s commute. As temperatures climbed back above freezing and salt did its work, there were no significant problems at the major roads around town, although Folmar did warn about icy spots at some intersections and side streets.

No further problems are expected today, said Folmar.

The same was true in the rest of the metro. The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s website showed traffic flowing normally, and no major accidents.

Temperatures will hit the upper 30s today, and dip down into the 20s at night, with the next two days promising more of the same. Occasional snow flurries are expected for the rest of the week, with an inch or two possible on Wednesday.
