  • Westside Band at Jersey’s Bar and Grill
    When/Where:
    9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Jersey’s Bar and Grill, 6449 Concord Blvd. E. in Inver Grove Heights.
    Why Go?
    The Westside Band is known for its dance, pop and R&B performances, including the sounds of Earth Wind & Fire, Kool and the Gang, The Eagles, Prince, Shaggy, The Black Eyed Peas and Outkast. For more info, check out http://westsideband.com/

  • M&M Oktoberfest
    When/Where:
    5:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Saints Martha and Mary Episcopal Church, 4180 Lexington Ave. S. in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    The M&M Oktoberfest festivities include great food, entertainment and a live auction. Assorted sausages, sauerkraut, spaetzele and potato salad are just a few items on the menu, as well as beer and wine for adults. This year’s celebration features live music by The Jazz Tradition—a Twin Cities trio playing original instrumental music and jazz standards in a variety of styles. There will also be a German sing-along.
    Price:
      Tickets are $10 per person or $30 for a family of three or more. Proceeds go to the SS Martha and Mary's (M&M) Capital Campaign Fund.
  • Art Attack: Halloween
    When/Where:
    10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, from at Inver Glen Library.
    Why Go:
    Children ages two to 12 can have fun creating a Halloween work of art. Lots of ideas and supplies will be available for this self-directed activity—be sure to stop by the children’s area.

  • ZooBoo at Como Zoo
    When/Where:
    4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, 1225 Estabrook Dr., St. Paul.
    Why Go:
    Have fun at Como Zoo's annual non-scary Halloween family festival, where the zoo grounds transform into a world of fairytales and fun. At this unique fall fundraiser, more than 200 live costumed characters entertain children as they enjoy a safe trick-or-treating alternative, plus many Halloween surprises. Children are encouraged to wear costumes, but they can come dressed as they are.
    Price:
    $7 admission at the gate. Free park and ride shuttle service.
  • F.A.N.tastic Saturdays
    When/Where
    : 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway.
    Why Go:
    The Eagan Community Center invites you to bring the gang to F.A.N.tastic (Family Activity Night) Saturdays, filled with lots of activities, games and playtime with your family. You'll have the opportunity to play in the gym or Blast, compete at board games in the Oasis, or enjoy a movie at 6 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    $2 per person, ($10 family maximum)
