Get Out: Weekend Events in and around Inver Grove Heights

Looking for things to do this weekend? Check out some of these ideas.

  • “Oklahoma!” Presented by the South St. Paul Community Theatre
    When/Where:
    7 p.m. on Thurs., July 28, through Sat., July 30, and 2 pm on Sun., July 31, at the South St. Paul High School Auditorium, 700 2nd St. N. in South Saint Paul.
    Why Go:
    South St. Paul Community Theatre presents “Oklahoma!”—the beloved classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical for all ages. Advance reserved seat tickets are available at www.showtix4u.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. For more information, or to reserve tickets by phone, call Eric Holsen at 651-457-9430.
    Price:
    Advance tickets are $7 for students and seniors, or $9 for adults. Tickets at the door are $8 for students and seniors, or $10 for adults.

 

  • Minnesota Twins Youth Clinic
    When/Where:
    10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fri. July 29 at the Rich Valley Athletic Complex, 1841 105th St. E., Inver Grove Heights
    Why Go:
    At this free clinic, learn basic fundamentals including fielding, hitting and throwing through hands-on instruction from the “MN Twins Play Ball!” clinic coaching staff. The Twins will provide safe, youth-friendly equipment. Participants are asked to bring their own baseball or softball glove. No pre-registration is required. The clinic for ages 6 to 9 is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The clinic for ages 10 to 16 will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Morning on the Farm
    When/Where:
    8 a.m. on Sat. July 30 at Dodge Nature Center, 365 Marie Ave. in West St. Paul.
    Why Go: Bring the whole family and spend a fun morning helping with typical morning chores on the farm, and then enjoy a tasty homemade farm breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes with homemade syrup and hand-churned butter. Be sure to register early; pre-registration is required by Thurs. July 28.
    Price:
    Adults $12, children $12 and families $25 for non-members/public. For members: Adults $10, children $10 and families $20. The event is free for children ages 2 and under.

  • Circus Juventas Big Summer Show: Grimm
    When/Where:
    Thurs. July 28 through Sun. Aug. 14 at the Circus Junventas arena, 1270 Montreal Ave. in St. Paul.
    Why Go:
    Circus Juventas, North America's largest youth performing arts circus, presents an all-new production for all ages, based on the beloved fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Numerous traditional circus acts will be performed, including acrobatics, aerial acts, clowning, teeterboard, the popular Russian swing and the exhilirating flying trapeze.     VIP tickets are $27.50; tickets for Zone 1 are $25 for adults or $20 for children and seniors; tickets for Zone 2 are $22.50 for adults or $17.50 for children and seniors; tickets for Zone 3 are $16.50 for adults or $13.50 for children and seniors. A family four-pack is available in Zone 3 for Saturday Matinees for $55. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketworks.com, or you can call the box office at 651-699-8229.

 

  • Rosemount Leprechaun Days
    When/Where:
    Various times and locations throughout Rosemount.
    Why Go:
    The festive Leprechaun Days will wind down this week, but there are plenty of things to do, including live entertainment, a family block party, a petting zoo, a photo contest exhibit, a tractor pull, the Grand Day parade, and a fireworks display—just to name a few.

    Free admission
