Get Out: Weekend Events in and Around Inver Grove Heights

Looking for something fun and exciting to do this weekend? Look no further!

  • Woolly Bears: Time for Turtles
    When/Where:
    10:00am–11:30am on Friday
    Why Go: Introduce your preschool-aged child to the wondrous natural world. Topics will be explored through creative storytelling, music, puppetry, and more. Children can also learn about the earth by exploring art or visiting with live animals. This program is designed for children ages 3 to 5. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
    Cost: Price: Cost is $14 for Non-members, $12 for Members
  • Rich Valley Egg Hunt
    When/Where:
    3-4 year-olds: 1pm, 5-7 year olds: 1:20pm, 8-10 year olds: 1:40pm, 10-13 year olds: 8:30pm (flashlight egg hunt) on Saturday.
    Why Go: Hop on over to Rich Valley Park to join in an old-fashioned egg hunt.  Some special prize eggs will also be available.  This hunt will be held rain or shine so dress appropriately.  Register early as space is limited.
    Cost: Free, online registration required. Registration deadline is Friday, April 15.
  • "Gel" Performs at Jersey's Bar and Grill
    When/Where:
    10pm on Saturday, April 23 at Jersey's Bar and Grill
    Why Go: Need your fix of alt and hard rock? Check out Gel at Jersey's on Saturday. Voted “Best Rock Band” in the 2002 City Pages, and nominated for “Best Cover Band” in the 2003 Minnesota Music Awards, Gel has been around the Minnesota music scene for a decade.
    Cost:
    Cover charge of $6 starts at 8pm
  • Earth Day Park Clean-Up
    When/Where:
    10am on Saturday at Lebanon Hills Regional Park
    Why Go:
    Celebrate Earth Day with the Dakota County Parks Department and contribute to a healthy earth and a healthy you. Come for the whole day or a portion of it:

    10-12pm     Clean up the Park
    Join us for a family friendly clean up of Lebanon Hills Regional Park in honor of Earth Day. Stop by the Jensen Lake, Holland Lake or Schulze Beach trailheads and help us do a little park spring cleaning. Fill a bag and receive a coupon good for a free 1-hour canoe or kayak rental this summer!

    12-1pm     Pack a Picnic
    Bring a lunch, or enjoy our light refreshments at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center beginning at noon. Enter the free raffle to win earth friendly prizes. Drawing will be at 3pm.

    1-3pm     Stay and Play
    Learn how to be healthy as a family with fun hands on kids’ activities, free pre-season canoeing and kayaking, fitness walks and more! The event culminates with live music around the campfire from 2-3pm.
