Inver Grove Heights Week in Review April 4 through April 10

The Simley High School Robotics Club against 62 other teams last weekend at a regional robotics meet at the University of Minnesota. While the team earned a seventh place finish at the meet, they did not qualify to compete in the regional finals.

City officials and local politicians late in March to fight off $1 million in cuts to the Rock Island Swing Bridge Project. The cuts were proposed as part of a Republican-backed budget reduction bill.

After Inver Grove Heights Resident Kay Dickison on the Mississippi, three quick-thinking emergency responders acted to save her. Now, those three will all receive the American Red Cross "Heroes" award. The honor is given to "those who have made the simple, yet powerful decision to put their personal needs aside in order to help others," according to the Red Cross website.

A 21-year-old man in Inver Grove Heights after police say he pointed a gun at another woman and threatened to kill her. He and a 20-year-old woman both face charges in the alleged crime.
