Patch Picks: Best Picnic Spots

This popular Inver Grove spot has baseball, softball and soccer fields, so it's a perfect place to bring along a picnic if you will be watching one of your kids play ball! There's also a playground and picnic area with tables.

Located next to the Veterans Memorial Community Center, this park boasts three playgrounds for kids at all ages and stages. There are also nearby walking trails to explore after your picnic, or you can head inside for a swim at the Grove Aquatic and Fitness Center. On weekdays, there is a special twilight rate for the aquatics and fitness center of $4 per person after 5:30pm.

Enjoy this five-acre park, complete with picnic tables, a playground, ball fields, a basketball court and sand volleyball courts. Everything you need for an afternoon of family fun.

Bring your rod and reel over to Lion's Park and throw a line over the side of the fishing pier. Additional amenities include a playground, picnic shelter and horseshoe pit.

Planning a family event? At Groveland Park, the picnic shelter, which holds up to 20 people, can be reserved for 4-hour blocks of time.
