Sixteen-year-old Brendan Yourczek usually starts decorating the family home around Oct. 1 for their annual Halloween spook-travaganza.
Dad Wayne Yourczek began the tradition in 1991 when the family moved in--on Halloween night no less--and has since passed on much of the decorating responsibility to his son.
Brendan adds a new piece or two to the collection every year, thanks mostly to monetary contributions from grandma and grandpa.
"I haven't gotten into the battery-operated props yet," Brendan told Patch on Halloween night. "Those are reeeally expensive."
The decoration bug doesn't end at Halloween for the Yourczeks either.
"Half the garage is Halloween stuff," Wayne said. "The other half is Christmas stuff."
