Scene From Inver Grove Heights: Soccer
Despite their soccer training's cancellation due to extreme heat, two boys created their own practice in its place.
Scorching temperatures couldn't stop brothers Davis Thalhuber, 10, and Chase Thalhuber, 8, from playing soccer Wednesday night.
A weekly soccer program was scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m., at Rich Valley Soccer Complex, but coaches cancelled the training session because the heat index was too high.
Though the temperature was in the 90s, Davis and Chase played on, dribbling and shooting for fun.

Davis said he was disappointed that they couldn't have practice.
"We love soccer. It's the best sport in the world," he said.

"I just wanted to shoot," his brother Chase added.
After playing around on their own, a big bottle of ice water was the perfect way to cool off, and for Chase, that meant dumping its contents on his head.
Though this week's session was cancelled, the boys' mother, Jen Thalhuber, said the program in the past weeks has been very enjoyable for them.
"It's nice that the community is putting on this program because the kids love it," she said. "It's a fun program."
