Community Shredding Event in Mendota Heights to Benefit Crime Stoppers of Minnesota

Over 11 million adults were victims of identity theft in 2009 (4.8 % of the population), and the average victim spent 21 hours and $373 out of pocket resolving the crime. Crime Stoppers of Minnesota is and its partners are once again leading the fight against identity theft by offering several shredding events for the public to properly destroy their sensitive documents.

The Mendota Heights Community Shredding Event will be held at American Bank on Saturday May 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at 1060 Dakota Drive (Hwy 110 & Lexington) in Mendota Heights.

These events also help raise critical funds for Crime Stoppers of Minnesota, a nonprofit organization that operates a statewide tip line and offers rewards to anonymous tipsters that lead the arrest and charging of criminals. A donation of $5 per grocery bag or box of documents is suggested.

Crime Stoppers has teamed up with Shred Right Inc. and American Bank of St. Paul to host the shredding events to be held at a Branch of American Bank. Shred Right will have its document destruction truck on location, and the actual shredding and destruction will be completed on site to ensure full protection.
