One of my favorite Winter Carnival Torchlight Parade memories was when I was about four years old. I screamed as the Vulcans walked by and my parents took me to see Barney. However, having the opportunity to actually be in the parade might just top that. I had this opportunity on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Before the parade started, Kassi (2013 Miss Inver Grove Heights) and I got a few more pictures taken with the 2012 Royal Family, the Junior Winter Carnival, and the Rice Street Royalty. I (and Kassi) was invited to ride on the South Wind bus for this parade that took us on the route not once but twice and we had the most amazing view – especially of the overthrow reenactment. The weather may have been a little cold and the snow that fell covered my hair at the end of the the night, but I totally had the best night ever on the South Wind Bus!!
