Local Bridges and Roads Highlight State Construction

The just-announced list of road and bridge construction projects from the Minnesota Department of Transportation holds promise for the southeast metro area.   

Here are some of the just-announced road and bridge projects scheduled for construction this summer:

• Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge reconstruction (multi-year project)
• Highway 52 in IGH - west frontage road construction 
• Hastings Bridge replacement (multi-year project)

The unseasonably warm weather we have had this spring has helped the department get an early start, according to MnDOT Commissioner Tom Sorel.
