On Saturday, December 14th my Royal Family and I helped out with the annual Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation Candy Cane Hunt held at South Valley Park. There was a little snow in the air-- the perfect weather for candy cane hunting! It was really fun to be able to count down as the kids all prepared to sprint into the field to find the candy canes. It was quite the stampede once everyone got going! After the initial rush we headed back inside to give the kids prizes for what they found. It was a heart warming feeling to see the look in a child's eyes when I handed them a gift and congratulated them on finding the candy canes! The lucky ones that found the gold candy canes even got to light the Christmas tree at Holiday on Main Street later that day. This was a great event to be a part of. We had so much fun interacting with the kids and definitely felt their excitement!
