Wow, what a year it has been! This has been a year of change for our Program. It started with a name change. We wanted a name that would emphasize what our Program is truly about, so … Miss Inver Grove Heights Scholarship Program it now is. On the note of “scholarship” -- because of the wonderful support of our community businesses and others, we have been able to increase the scholarship funds for Miss to $1,500 and $1,000 for Princess commencing with our 2014 Royal Family. The final change (so far) was to the age category for Junior Miss. This category now encompasses girls going into sixth grade.
With change came the addition of a float – the first for our Program. Many parades have already seen the float this year and, in fact, an award for Best-Themed Float was won at the Eagan Funfest Parade on the Fourth of July. This float would not have been possible without the generous support of Luther Nissan of Inver Grove Heights.
We bade farewell to our 2013 Royal Family as they passed on their crowns on September 7th. Our sincere gratitude goes out to those who made their year possible. To the many sponsors who, through their generosity and continued support, made the year a success for the girls. Next, to the Board of Directors who spent countless hours putting the year together. Last, but certainly not least, to the families of these girls who gave them endless love and support (not to mention, took a few pictures).
