On Sunday, December 7th, my royal sisters and I had the pleasure of joining many special olympians and their families at the Special Olympics Holiday Party held at the VFW in South Saint Paul. It was nice to see some of the faces we had the pleasure of meeting at the Summer Luau. We had a delicious meal followed by a ceremony awarding two great athletes from this past year -- one female and one male. There was even an appearance from the big man himself, Santa! He delivered many presents to boys and girls of ALL ages. He also read the story "Twas the Night Before Christmas" for everyone to hear. There were many opportunities to chat with the “kids” that attended and one even told me he had a crush on me! Loved it!!! There were many activities to do like face painting, fingernail painting, writing letters to Santa, and so much more. Towards the end of the event, we all received medals recognizing the help of volunteers. These medals were distributed by one of the athletes named Mark Johnson. The IGH Royal Family had a lot of fun (to say the least) and many memories were made with these very special people!
