Former South St. Paul School Board Chair Dies

Margaret J. Hall, 80, died Nov. 28. She was cared for at Timber Hills, Inver Grove Heights.

Margaret J. Hall of South St. Paul returned to the arms of her Lord, in Inver Grove Heights just a few weeks after celebrating her 80th birthday. Preceded in death by parents, Winifred and Olav Austbo. Survived by husband of 56 years, Jerry Hall of Inver Grove Heights, brother, John Austbo (Judy), Oregon; children, Bert (Bonnie) Brigham, City UT, Mark, Shoreview, Winifred, West St Paul; grandchildren, Miles and Emily; nieces and nephews. Born in Fargo ND, Margaret attended schools in Redwood Falls MN, and graduated from the University of Minnesota in home economics. Taught in South St. Paul and Farmington; married Jerry Hall in 1956. Margaret was devoted to her family, community, and church. She was a member and board chairman of South St Paul school board. She was a volunteer in the United Way of South St Paul and St Paul, where she was chosen as volunteer of the year. She was a long-time and faithful member of First United Methodist church in South St Paul. She continued in outdoor activities with North Star Ski Touring club until her disability with Alzheimers intervened. The family is indebted to the devoted staff of Timber Hills Inver Grove Heights for loving care. Her end-of life journey was also made easier by Health Partners Hospice. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St Paul's United Methodist Church, 700 Wesley Lane Mendota Heights. Visitation 90 minutes prior to service. Private interment. Memorials suggested to the South St. Paul Education Foundation, or Neighbors Inc.
