26-Year-Old Inver Grove Man Dies After Driving Car Off Road, Into Trees

Benjamin Kirk Dahlstrom died Sunday morning from blunt force craniocerebral injuries.

A 26-year-old Inver Grove Heights man died early Sunday morning after driving his car off the road in Mendota Heights.

Benjamin Kirk Dahlstrom died from blunt force craniocerebral injuries, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Dahlstrom was driving his car southbound on Delaware Avenue near Huber Drive a little before 2 a.m. Sunday.

“The vehicle somehow left the roadway to the right and struck several trees and came to rest,” said Mendota Heights Police Sgt. Neil Garlock. “There’s no sign of breaking or any change of course.”

Dahlstrom died at 2:43 a.m., according to the HCME.

The Mendota Heights Police Department will continue to investigate.
