Blotter: Burglar Takes $7 Cash, Leaves Nintendo Wii System

Several burglaries, assaults and drug-related incidents were recorded in the Inver Grove Heights police reports for July 16-22

April 1

12 a.m.—Police responded to a past-action report of disorderly conduct on the 3100 block of 65th St.

July 15

1 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a runaway on the 3100 block of 65th St.

July 16

6:40 p.m.—Police responded to reports of a burglary on the 7500 block of Cloman Way. A 60-year-old apartment resident told an officer that someone took $7 in cash from his apartment, even though all the doors and windows leading into the apartment were deadbolted or otherwise secure. The burglar apparently left untouched a Nintendo Wii system located in the apartment. Later that morning, the victim said he heard somone turning the doorknob to get into his apartment, but the intruder was unable to enter because the door was bolted.

6:32 p.m.—Police responded to a drug-related incident along South Robert Trail.

11:39 p.m.—Police recovered a stolen vehicle that was abandoned along 52nd St. in Inver Grove Heights. The vehicle was towed and its owner contacted.

July 17

1:04 a.m.—A 20-year-old Inver Grove Heights resident was cited for possession of marijuana after police found her and another man sitting inside a car in North Valley Park after the park had closed. The officer who approached the car smelled a strong odor of marijuana and asked the occupants to hand over the drugs. The woman responded by giving him a marijuana-filled cigar.

July 18

11:30 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a third-degree burglary at the 6200 block of S. Robert Trail.

July 19

6:35 p.m.—Police responded to a report of credit card fraud on the 6400 block of Dawn Ave. E.

July 21

11 p.m.—Police responded to a fifth-degree assault and underage consumption incident on the 3200 block of 68th St.

July 22

2 a.m.—Police responded to a disorderly conduct/curfew violation incident on the 3200 block of 78th St.
