Blotter: Man Hit Woman with Computer Keyboard

Several terroristic threats calls round out the Inver Grove Heights police reports for Oct. 22-28.

Oct. 19

12 a.m.—Police responded to a theft/check forgery incident on the 3600 block of 75th St. E.

9:10 a.m.—Police responded to a fraud report on the 9100 block of Cahill Ave.

8 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property/terroristic threats call on the 6300 block of Carleda Way E.

8 a.m.—Police responded to a theft/possession of theft tools/criminal damage incident along Hwy. 110.

Police responded to a report of an assault near the intersection of 120th St. and Rich Valley Blvd. A 20-year-old told officers he had been punched after drinking at a party. The man, who was polite to police, told them he didn't want any trouble, so he wasn't going to say anything else to officers. He declined to press charges.

Oct. 25

6:36 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a domestic assault on the 7800 block of Conroy Way. While in route, the officers were informed by dispatch that a man had struck a woman in the face with a computer keyboard, and was now locked outside of a home. Upon arrival, police found the man in the driveway of the home. After he was handcuffed, he began yelling at the officer and told police that his girlfriend choked him and had accidentally "run into" a keyboard. Police spoke to the woman, who had a bloody nose, a cut by her eye and a small red mark on her cheek. The woman told the officer the man swung the keyboard at her like a baseball bat after an argument. Police transported the man to jail.

Oct. 26

10:40 a.m.—Police responded to a drug paraphernalia incident on the 2900 block of 80th St. E.

Oct. 27

1:45 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a domestic assault on the 8400 block of Ashton Ave. The caller, a male, told police he locked himself in his bathroom after his wife began hitting him. When police arrived, the found the man outside the house with a ripped shirt and red marks on his neck. He told officers his wife hit him on the head and ripped his shirt. Police went into the house, where the wife, who appeared to be very upset, was being restrained by family members. She refused to answer questions, except to tell officers that "they" were being mean to her. The man told police he was scared of his wife and didn't know what she would do to him or their children. Police cited the woman with two counts of domestic assault.

4:01 a.m.—Police responded to a third-degree DUI and hit and run property accident on the 3800 block of Conroy Trl. E.
