Blotter: Man's Marijuana Habit Breeds Trouble with Wife, Authorities

Burglaries, an assault and other incidents were recorded in the latest edition of the Inver Grove Heights police reports.

Sept. 2

12:27 p.m. — Police responded to a burglary call on the 6400 block of Delilah Ave. The caller reported that someone stole two Weber smokers from an unlocked shed.

10 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary/theft/tampering with an automobile incident on the 9800 block of Rich Valley Blvd.

1 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a burglary on the 9500 block of Rich Valley Blvd. The victim reported the burglar stole two pairs of sunglasses, $10 worth of hamburger and small change from vehicles and a freezer in the unlocked garage.

8:20 p.m.—Police responded to a possession of drug paraphernalia incident on the 2900 block of 80th St. E.

Oct. 2

12 a.m.—Police responded to a report of an assault along Eagle Circle.

6:52 p.m.— Police responded to a domestic assault/drugs call on the 6300 block of Crosby Ave. An officer spoke to a woman at the scene who appeared to be trembling and nervous. She told police that she and a 52-year-old man got into a fight after she hid his marijuana stash to prevent him from smoking in the house. When he noticed it was missing, police say he screamed at her, held her against a wall with his forearm and hit her repeatedly on the head with a phone. She then bit him in the forearm to get away. The woman handed the man's drug paraphernalia over to the officers.

The 52-year-old man, who left the scene before officers arrived, returned while police were interviewing the woman. He denied possessing marijuana and told police he was upset because the woman took some of his jewelry. Police showed the man the paraphernalia they confiscated, at which point the man became verbally abusive toward the woman. Officers placed him under arrest.

6:31 p.m.—Police responded to a forgery/counterfeit currency incident on the 4500 block of Robert Trail S.

Oct. 4

10:13 p.m.—Police responded to a third-degree DUI/accident with injuries call along 80th St. E.

Oct. 5

11:30 a.m.—Police responded to a terroristic threats call on the 8100 block of Cahill Ave. E.

Oct. 7

12:04 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a domestic assault on the 5800 block of Babcock Trail E.
