Blotter: Smoldering Cigarette May Have Caused House Fire

April 1

4pm — Police responded to a terroristic threats call on the 3900 block of 70th Street E. The reporting party told officers that another individual had left threatening voicemails on her phone. She declined to press charges.

April 2

6:48pm — Police responded to a drugs call on Concord Boulevard.

April 3

4:31pm — A 35-year-old woman turned herself in to police on a felony drug charge. She was transported to Dakota County Jail.

7:06pm — Police executed an arrest warrant on the 7800 block of Cahill Ave. after the 26-year-old suspect failed to appear in court on a disorderly conduct charge.

April 4

12:59am — Police responded to reports of a car fire on the 2900 block of Upper 55th Street. Attempts to put the engine fire out with a fire extinguisher were unsuccessful. The fire department was called in to put out the flames.

7:31pm — Police executed an arrest warrant on the 4900 block of Ashley Lane.

8:23pm — Police executed an arrest warrant on the 8100 block of Blaine Ave.

April 6

3:57pm — The Inver Grove Heights Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire on the 1900 block of 96th Street E. Firefighters discovered a fire in a small planter box attached to a garage. The homeowner, who returned after firefighters put out the flames, told responders that a discarded cigarette "very possibly" caused the fire.
