Blotter: Teen Steals Fast Food from McDonalds Drive-Through

Inver Grove Heights police also responded to burglary and robbery calls, according to the latest edition of the police reports.

Oct. 28

10 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal damage to property incident on the 3100 block of 78th St.

Oct. 29

1:27 a.m.—Police responded to a underage drinking and driving/underage consumption incident along 4th Ave. S.

Oct. 30

1 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a robbery on the 11600 block of Rich Valley Blvd.

Oct. 31

9 a.m.—Police responded to a counterfeit currency call on the 8900 block of Jefferson Trail.

6:40 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a burglary on the 8100 block of River Road.

9:48 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call at the McDonalds on 80th St. in Inver Grove Heights. The restaurant manager told officers he was handing a bag of food to a paying customer at the drive-through window when a teen wearing a Simley High School athletics sweatshirt ran through the drive-through and grabbed the bag out of his hand. The manager believed the teen was hiding behind the car as it approached the window, and told police this was the second time a theft like this had occurred at the McDonalds. In the first incident, which took place during Inver Grove Heights Days, the customer got out of his car and chased the suspect down to get his food back, the manager said. Police were unable to locate the teen.

Nov. 1

12:20 a.m.—Police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 8100 block of Cahill Ave.

10:03 p.m.—Minutes after receiving a driving complaint for a tan vehicle in the same area, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident along Concord Boulevard. Police arrived within a minute, and found a tan car car in the southbound lane of Concord. The car had jumped the curb and knocked over a light pole. The driver was still in the vehicle, and when police approached the car, they saw mini-bottles of alcohol and small bottles of wine on the floor of the car. The driver's eyes were watery, and the man smelled of alcohol. Police administered a preliminary breath test on the man, whose blood alcohol level registered as .180. Police arrested the 42-year-old Minneapolis resident and called in a tow truck to haul the car away.

Nov. 4

1:30 a.m.—Police responded to a criminal damange to property incident on the 11600 block of Azure Lane. A homeowner called and reported that when he woke up that morning, several of his yard lights had been pulled out of the ground and broken.

11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.—Police respond to a series of theft incidents between 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the 2900 block of 80th St. E.
