Blotter: Thieves Tell Witness They're "Repo Men"

Burglary, disorderly conduct and felony domestic assault also recorded in the Inver Grove Heighs Police Department reports for Jan. 22 through Jan. 28.

Jan. 24

1:33am — Police respond to a domestic call on the 3000 block of 65th St. E., where a woman who is four months pregnant reported a 37-year-old male attempted to strangle her twice. The male was charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation.

Jan. 25

8:57pm — Police respond to reports that four Hispanic males are fighting in an apartment. Neighbors told officers the men were hitting the walls so hard that the  impact was knocking items down from the opposing side of the wall. Police arrest 29-year-old Armondo Ortiz Monarrez, who was charged with disorderly conduct.

Jan. 27

1:58am — Police respond to reports that several people had pulled up in a truck to a trailer they did not own and were attempting to take the trailer. According to the complaint, the suspects told the witness they were "repo men" who were here to repossess the trailer. When the suspects didn't provide a business card, the witness grew suspicious. Police arrested 52-year-old Timothy Joseph Gobely, 22-year-old Mitchell Gordon Gobely and 22-year-old Bethany Jeanne Stofac. All three were charged with felony theft.

6:05pm — A 32-year-old woman living on the 3000 block of 65th St. E. reported to police that someone cut the lock off her garage and stole an air compressor, a bike carriage, several bicycles, a tent, tools and an air mattress. Police took photos of the scene and advised the property owner to find a better way to lock the garage.
