Blotter: Would-Be Burglar Threw Bricks Through Patio Door, Then Fled

An assault, several burglaries and possession of marijuana recorded in the Inver Grove Heights Police reports for March 19 through March 25.

March 20

6:32pm — Police responded to reports of an assault on the 1900 block of 52nd St. E.

9:30pm — Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary on the 2100 block of 47th St. E. The homeowners were watching a movie with the lights off in the house when a person threw two large landscaping bricks through the windows of a patio door. Police believe the person used the bricks to try and gain entry to the home. The would-be burglar fled before homeowners could identify him or her. Police have no suspects at this time.

10pm — Police responded to reports of a burglary on the 7000 block of Cahill Ave.

March 21

2pm — Police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 5800 block of Babcock Trail.

3:16pm — Police responded to the 7500 block of Dawn Ave. on reports that a man pointed a gun at another woman and threatened to kill her. For the full story, click here.

11:29pm — An officer on a routine patrol noticed a running vehicle parked in the fire lane outside a building on the 5400 block of Audobon Ave. When the officer approached the vehicle, he noticed the "strong odor" of marijuana emanating from the car. The officer searched the driver of the vehicle and found nine grams of marijuana in his pocket. He was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

March 25

6pm — Police responded to reports of a burglary on the 5800 block of Blackberry Trail.
