Couple Charged After Leaving Baby in Running Car

Witnesses said the three-month-old child was in the car for at least 45 minutes.

Officers from the Dakota County Sheriff's office responded to a bar in Randolph upon receiving a call about an infant left unattended in a running car, writes Sheriff Dave Bellows in "The Front Row."

The parents had left their three-month-old baby in the car while they went into the bar. When they returned to the car, they told the officers they were only gone for a few minutes.

Several patrons, however, had seen the baby in the car and told police the child was in the car from between 45 minutes to one hour.

The parents were charged with child neglect and the baby was placed with relatives.
