Home Invader Sentenced to Almost 8 Years in Prison

Arlin Maurice Thunder, 38, and three co-conspirators broke into a South St. Paul home and grabbed armfuls of valuable items before assaulting two male residents with a metal pipe.

A 38-year-old man was sentenced Sept. 11 to 93 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility-St. Cloud for his role in a May 18 home invasion in South St. Paul that left two men bloodied and battered.

Arlin Maurice Thunder pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree burglary in exchange for Dakota County Judge Jerome B. Abrams dropping additional charges of first-degree assault and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Thunder was also ordered to pay an undetermined amount of restitution to the victims—one of whom told police he was assaulted with a metal pipe; the other of which was found unconscious, shirtless and covered in blood.

Thunder was taken into custody on May 18 with Robert George Head, 30, and Soloman Daniel Campbell, 28. A fourth suspect was never apprehended by police.

Campbell pleaded not guilty to the charges on June 26 and is scheduled for a jury trial on Dec. 10. Head also pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear at a jury trial on Feb. 25.
