Inver Grove Heights Man Charged With Inappropriately Touching Six-Year-Old

John Henrick Vinge is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

An Inver Grove Heights man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct after police say he inappropriately touched a six-year-old girl.

John Henrick Vinge, 49, faces one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, which carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, the 6-year-old victim told a nurse last week that a man she knew as “Johnny” had touched her private areas.

The child identified the part of her body that Vinge touched by pointing to a diagram of a female child, the complaint says. The girl said Johnny had put his hand inside her pants, and that he  also had her touch and squeeze him inappropriately, according to the criminal complaint.

She said the incident occurred inside Vinge’s bedroom, the complaint said.

The child’s mother identified Johnny as Vinge, a neighbor, and said her daughter had been around him for about two months, from early July through the end of August. She also confirmed that the girl addresses Vinge as Johnny.

Vinge was arrested Sept. 7 and remained in the Dakota County Jail Monday on a $250,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled for Oct. 3 in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.
