Inver Grove Heights Police Apprehend Subject of Nationwide Manhunt

Blake Syed Uddin was arrested Sunday and is free on bond.

A man being sought by authorities in connection with a series of carjackings in Inver Grove Heights last month has been arrested.

, 30, whom police say successfully stole a victim’s car on Aug. 23 and attempted to steal three others. Uddin's spree allegedly began in a parking lot at . Shortly after making off with one vehicle, police said Uddin caused an accident and then was hit by a van as he ran from the scene through traffic on Hwy. 52.

Uddin is charged with three counts of attempted robbery and one count of theft, all felonies. He was arrested Sunday in Inver Grove Heights and released Tuesday on a $50,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.

Uddin faces a maximum penalty on each of the four counts of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
