Inver Grove Heights Woman Charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Vicodin

Police say Leslie Ann Frank picked up a man's Vicodin prescription without authorization, then attempted to have the prescription refilled two weeks later.

 

An Inver Grove Heights woman has been charged with fraudulently obtaining 90 Vicodin pills that were prescribed for someone else, then attempting to refill the prescription two weeks later.

Leslie Ann Frank, 32, is charged with two counts of felony fifth-degree drug possession, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, an employee of a pharmacy in Inver Grove Heights contacted police July 20 and said Frank had picked up a Vicodin prescription for an individual on July 11.

When the man for whom the Vicodin was prescribed came to the pharmacy on July 17 to pick up the prescription, employees told him that Frank had already picked it up, according to the complaint.

Employees showed police surveillance video showing Frank picking up the man’s prescription on July 11.

On July 25, an employee of the same pharmacy called Inver Grove Heights police again and reported that Frank had called in a refill of the same man’s Vicodin prescription. When employees called the man to verify whether he had authorized the refill, he said he had not.

When Frank showed up to pick up the Vicodin, pharmacy employees called police. Frank told officers that the man had asked her to pick up the prescription, which the man denied.

Frank was arrested, and police verified that she was the same person on the pharmacy’s surveillance video from July 11, according to the complaint.
