Inver Grove Heights Woman Sentenced for Lakeville Bank Scheme

Leah Marie Bremner, 32, pleaded guilty to a felony back in July.

A 32-year-old Inver Grove Heights woman has been sentenced to serve jail time after she embezzled nearly $100,000 from a Lakeville bank.

Leah Marie Bremner will serve one month in Dakota County Jail, be on house arrest for three months and on probation for up to 20 years after she entered a guilty plea to fleecing the bank out of money while she was a senior teller.

Bremner entered a guilty plea earlier this year, admitting to charges of theft by swindle, a felony.

She will also be ordered to pay restitution for the thefts, which police determined took place between July and October 2010.
