Jealous Rage Lands Inver Grove Man in Jail
If convicted of the most serious crime—second-degree burglary—Anthony Joseph Briseno, 33, could spend up to 10 years in prison and be forced to pay a $20,000 fine.
A 33-year-old Inver Grove Heights man was charged July 18 with second-degree burglary, criminal damage to property and domestic assault after police say he kicked down his ex-girlfriend's door, spit in her face and stole her mobile phone.
According to a Dakota County criminal complaint, Anthony Joseph Briseno flew into a jealous rage after watching his ex-girlfriend leave her South St. Paul home with another man.
The complaint states the couple returned to the house as Briseno pulled into the driveway and that he began pounding on the door and making threats toward the other man.

He then kicked in the front door, spit in the woman's face and snatched her mobile phone as she was talking to a 911 dispatcher.
Briseno then searched the home for the other man and when he couldn't find him, drove off with the woman's phone.

In a phone conversation with police Briseno admitted to "lightly" pushing open the door and spitting at the woman. He claimed the woman spit at him first.
Briseno posted bond Aug. 1 and is scheduled for an omnibus hearing on Oct. 22.
