UPDATE: Man in Custody After Stealing Motorcycle In Inver Grove, Robbing Freedom Valu Center in Hudson

After a Hudson gas station is burglarized, a man on a motorcycle reportedly stolen from Inver Grove Heights leads police on a pursuit to Stillwater area before being taken into custody.

A Bay City man is in custody after allegedly robbing a Hudson gas station early Sunday morning and leading police on a chase to Stillwater on a motorcycle reportedly stolen out of Inver Grove Heights.

on Coulee Road was the victim of an armed burglary at 5:24 a.m. when a white male in his mid-20s entered the gas station, displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to a news release issued by Chief Marty Jensen.

Police responded to the scene saw a subject matching the description of the burglar riding a motorcyle at high speed toward Minnesota. When officers attempted to stop the motorcycle, the subject fled and a officers pursued with assistance from Sheriff's Deputies from both and Washington County.

According to the release, officers pursued the subject to near the intersection of Highway 5 and Highway 36, in the Stillwater area, according to the release. The subject, Jason S. Kearns, 28, of Bay City, was taken into custody shortly afterward without incident. Police found a Freedom Valu Center bag with money at the scene along with BB gun. It was also discovered that the motorcycle Kearns was riding was reported stolen out of Inver Grove Heights on July 31.

Kearns is being held on suspicion of armed robbery, knowingly fleeing a police officer and warrants out in Wisconsin. 

The incident remains under investigation.
